Baker Mayfield Arrives

Lincoln Riley's very first season as head coach delivered a Big 12 championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff, powered by Baker Mayfield's record-setting Heisman campaign. An upset loss at Iowa State was the only real speed bump before a classic Rose Bowl semifinal against Georgia, decided in double overtime on a Sony Michel touchdown run. It's remembered as much for the way it ended as for how good the season actually was — a genuine instant classic.

Riley's debut season. Lost to Iowa State in October, then to Georgia in 2OT in the Rose Bowl/CFP semifinal.
