Stoops' Tenth Title

Bob Stoops' next-to-last season opened rough — non-conference losses to Houston and Ohio State had the Sooners unranked before October — but Oklahoma answered by ripping off nine straight conference wins, capping it with a Sugar Bowl blowout of Auburn. It was the tenth conference championship of Stoops' eighteen years in Norman, a number that puts his run among the best in program history even without a national title to show for this particular season. The Playoff committee left OU out anyway, a reminder that in the four-team era, a great season doesn't always get you a ticket to the dance.

11th Big 12 title (2nd straight), Stoops' 10th conference title in 18 seasons. Lost non-conference to Houston and Ohio State early, then won 9 straight conference games plus the Sugar Bowl over Auburn. Missed the CFP despite the run.
