Yardage and turnovers are OU’s own raw offensive output from CFBD — there’s no matching “yards allowed” figure (see method page); defense PPA above is the real, opponent-adjusted defensive number the Power Index uses.

Iconic moment
716 Points and a Heisman Sophomore
Sam Bradford's sophomore Heisman season fueled an offense so explosive it set an NCAA scoring record, averaging over 55 points a game across the full schedule. Oklahoma steamrolled its way to a Big 12 title, then met Tim Tebow's Florida Gators in the BCS Championship — a rare matchup of back-to-back Heisman winners — and came up just short. The scoreboard numbers alone make this one of the most offensively dominant seasons in program history, title or no title. *(Note: this paragraph assumes the corrected 12-2 record flagged in the gap report.)*
NEEDS MANUAL REVIEW: same record-vs-losses inconsistency as 2003 (source said '12-1 (7-1)' but lists losses to both Texas and Florida) -- true final record should be 12-2. PF of 716 matches the cited NCAA scoring record, so game-level totals are trustworthy even though the W-L summary needs a check.
