Iconic moment
Perfect, and Nobody Saw It Coming
Bob Stoops, in only his second year, took a team picked to finish mid-pack in the Big 12 and rode it to a 13-0 season and a national championship — beating a murderer's row of ranked opponents along the way, including number-one Nebraska and a rematch with number-two Florida State in the BCS title game. Josh Heupel quarterbacked the whole improbable run. It was OU's first title since 1985, and it announced that the Stoops era would be no rebuilding project.
First OU title since 1985. Beat #1 Nebraska in the regular season, then #2 Florida State in the Orange Bowl/BCS title game.
